    1. Most fad diets focus on weight loss, how much you can lose and how fast. Now, I’m not saying you won’t lose any weight on these fad diets, I’m sure you will, but is that what you really want? When trying to lose belly fat you want to lose just that.....FAT.....not just weight. All you will do using fad diets, that promise you will lose 10 pounds in two weeks, is lose mostly water and possibly a pound or so of fat. Leaving you seriously dehydrated, lethargic and hungry! It’s almost impossible to lose 10 pounds of fat in two weeks!

    2. It’s a popular misconception that carbohydrates make you fat and low carbohydrate diets are the way forward. Reducing carbohydrate intake to such low levels as most of these diets require will ensure you put on weight in the long run. You are starving your body of energy which actually increases the amount of fat the body stores. This is discussed in detail in the email course.

    3. The more cardiovascular exercise you do the more weight/fat you will lose. While increasing exercise will help you to lose fat, relentlessly following the same cardio workout day in and day out will NOT! Your body is not stupid and it easily adjusts to repetitive exercise limiting the value of such workouts. You need to shake it up a bit to burn fat, especially belly fat, quick and easily.

    4. Doing lots of sit ups or crunches will burn away belly fat. ‘Spot reduction’ is not an option as far as belly fat goes. Sit ups and crunches may work your abdominal muscles but they will do absolutely nothing for the layer of fat hiding them away.

    5. Restricting your diet (starving yourself) doesn’t work. Your body is very adaptable and by lowering the amount you put into your body, it will respond by lowering the output.
